Classic Christmas Movies: Love Actually
|
Airport, never-ending smiles, embrace…
So many people are smiling all the time, embrace each other. On their faces, there are gratitude, happiness and even happy tears—this is the first scene of the movie, Love Actually. “Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrival’s gate at Heathrow airport. General opinion starts to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed. But I don’t see that, seems to me that love is everywhere.” This is the aside of the movie which can be heard as soon as the movie starts.
This movie got introduced to the public in 2003 during the Christmas period. Several seemingly disconnected stories in fact have close connections with each other. Love is full of every story—not only romantic love, but also love among families and relatives. I love this movie since the day when I saw it. It makes people feel warm.

The most unforgettable story in this movie is the man, who falls in love in his friend’s bride. I can still remember that wedding ceremony. Using his camera, he recorded all the scenes where the bride appears. The smiling bride, the charming wedding dress, the happy expressions, all of these look so warm and romantic!
“With any luck by next year, I’ll be going out with one of these girls. But for now, let me say without hope and agenda, just because it’s Christmas (and at Christmas you tell the truth), to me you are perfect and my wasted heart will love you until you look like this. Merry Christmas!” Without any words, only carrying a tape record and paper board on which all he wants to express, he told his beloved girl all his love. The girl gifted him a kiss. “Enough”, he told himself with a satisfying smile. It is enough. It is love!
Every time when I see this scene, tears would fall off my eyes. I am not sad. Perhaps I just was moved by this special kind of love. If you love somebody and you are sure that she/he is happy now, perhaps, all you can do is to say “Merry Christmas”. That’s all, that’s enough.
Christmas is a time when people should tell the truth and express their love. So since Christmas 2011 is around the corner, have you already prepared to show your love?

Christmas vs Valentines Day
|

It’s funny how some of my guy friends make such a big deal out of Christmas, yet find Valentines Day to be complete drudgery. Even those without children, fight the crowds, blow huge wads of cash for gifts, spend hours wrapping gifts, put up decorations and a tree and endure the 25 Christmas songs for 45 days. They rarely if ever complain about the whole endeavor, even when it means they have to travel and go to relatives homes.
Well, when it comes to Valentines Day, the one holiday out of the year meant to celebrate your funny little honey, they gasp and complain about it being some big commercial or corporate scandal. The mere thought of having to buy one person some flowers is an absolute waste of time, money and energy.
Christmas is an important holiday season for all people from kids to adults, while Valentine’s Day is not just as important for those with wives and/or girlfriends, but also a great day for any guy. If you’re married or have a gf, it’s guaranteed booty that night and if you’re single, it’s a great opportunity to get points with the chicks on your radar.
Happy Holiday!

Why is Christmas so important?
|
We all know that Christmas is very very important, it’s the biggest issue of the year. However, why does Christmas have such a valuable position? Let’s learn it together:
There are two reasons why Christmas is so important.
* According to the 1994 “Britannica Book of the Year,” there are 1.8 billion Christians in a total world population of 5.5 billion, making it the largest religion worldwide. In America, 241 million out of a total population of 281 million people are Christians — that’s 85 percent. Because Christians follow Jesus, the birth of Jesus is important to them.
* In America, the weeks leading up to Christmas are the biggest shopping weeks of the year. Many retailers make up to 70 percent of their annual revenue in the month preceding Christmas. Therefore, retailers hype the event beyond belief.
According to Daniel Boorstin in his book “The Americans,” Christmas was largely a non-event in America until the 1860s. 1867 was the first year that Macy’s department store in New York City remained open until midnight on Christmas Eve. 1874 was the year of the first window displays with a Christmas theme at Macy’s. It has snowballed from there.

Christmas Wedding
|
Christmas is an important annual festival, wedding is the most important of one’s life. Christmas wedding is really a good memory for the couples.2010 Christmas wedding, have you thought about it?
A wedding is the ceremony in which two people are united in marriage or a similar institution. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Most wedding ceremonies involve an exchange of wedding vows by the couple, presentation of a gift (offering, ring(s), symbolic item, flowers, money), and a public proclamation of marriage by an authority figure or leader.
Special wedding garments are often worn, and the ceremony is followed by a wedding reception. Music, poetry, prayers or readings from Scripture or literature also may be incorporated into the ceremony.
A wedding dress or wedding gown is the clothing worn by a bride during a wedding ceremony. Color, style and ceremonial importance of the gown can depend on the religion and culture of the wedding participants.
