Millions of greetings cards are sent over the Christmas period. The shops are always stocked up with Christmas cards and goodies from the middle of September and there are thousands of designs to choose from. Despite the huge amounts of printed cards it is always much nicer and much more personal to send handmade cards. A handmade card will always stand out and be much more appreciated by the recipient.

There are many great card making supplies out there and you will always be able to find lots of Christmas themed craft project and ideas both online and offline. It is really easy to get started with card making so you don’t need to worry if you have never done it before. The best way to learn is simply by having a go and getting stuck in. Here are some of our top tips for making your own Christmas cards.

-Don’t be a perfectionist

The charm of handmade cards is that they look like they are handmade. A few wonky bit s of paper and splodges of glue are not the end of the world. You will get better in time and these things will become rarer but don’t expect to get it right first time.

-Choose a card making kit

The vast choice of card making supplies can be a little bit overwhelming to a new card maker. A card making kit will usually contain all that you need to make an amount of cards. This means that all the supplies are pre-picked for you and all you have do is assemble the cards. This is a very good starting block for beginners.

-Find some good inspiration

One of the hardest things in card making is designing the card and laying it all out in the right way. Dig out some of your old birthday cards and see how they are set out. Have a look at where the images and working is places, the colours that are used and the shape of the card. Try making a copy of a card that you like to start off with. You will soon learn where to place things and what colours to use together.

-Use quality glue and scissors

Glue and scissors are two very basic card making essentials. Make sure that yours are good quality. If you buy cheap scissors and glue then this will be reflected in the finish of your card. A guillotine will also be very useful if you can afford one

The holiday season is set in a winter wonderland, making it perfect for a storybook wedding. Christmas can be an especially romantic time of year, making the atmosphere perfect for a wedding celebration. Bring the love and spirit of the holiday season into your special day by planning a Christmas wedding.

Choose your date. A Christmas-themed wedding does not have to be on Christmas day. Close to the date would be nice, but many consider the start of the Christmas holiday season right after Thanksgiving. December dates are perfect for this special holiday celebration.

Secure a location. Start looking as early as possible, as venues begin booking up for holiday parties. As a bonus, you’ll likely find that churches and reception sites will already be decorated to some extent for the holidays. It will add some charm to your site while possibly saving you time and decorating dollars.

Send save-the-dates early if possible. Holidays are a busy time for families, so you want to give your guests plenty of notice.

Incorporate holiday hues into your special day. Deep, bright reds and a variety of greens are typically thought of as Christmas colors, but you can get creative and mix unique tones together. Try red with a funky lime green, or cranberry and wine hues. Tie these colors in through florals, bridesmaids’ attire, invitations and other printed materials and decor.

Add the fresh scent of fir and spruce to your Christmas-inspired florals. Carnations are popular this time of year, especially varieties in bright reds and crisp whites. Red and black magic roses are popular as well. Rather than traditional fillers, such as fern and baby’s breath, try sprigs of evergreen in bouquets and boutonnières.

Choose a wintry theme if red and green isn’t your theme. Silver, white and cream create a dynamic winter backdrop. From florals to invitations, cake, favors and more, use snowflakes and glitter to create a true winter wonderland.

Think outside the box for your wedding cake. A dessert literally shaped like stacked gift boxes is a thought, or accent a traditional cake with Christmas ornament bulbs, evergreen or holly.

Create less expensive centerpieces. Florals can be expensive at this time of year. Consider holiday-hued candles set upon a mirror, or fill glass vases with monocolored Christmas ornaments purchased during after-season sales.

Christmas is one of the greatest festive of the year. Relatives and other friends from all over the world get together to celebrate Christmas Eve. Sharing wishes and love are some of the primary activities during the Christmas season. Many start their purchases right about a month before for Christmas. The most purchase is in search for wishes to send out to your distant beloveds.

Some Forms of Christmas Wishes

Christmas greetings are not the only way to express your wishes. There are other creative ways to send out your wishes on Christmas. In addition, these ways are not only to show of your creativity. Some people would require economically feasible ways to wish people around them. In that case getting good greeting cards would not be cost feasible. In that case, one could try out other methods that are equivalently effective enough to give out their best just as the cards would do.

Christmas Poems

A Christmas poem could be one of the most effective poems to share your wishes to your beloveds. Poems are the language of heart. It is what the heart can speak. Christmas is a season of fun, enjoyment, and spread of cheers all over the globe. Singing out Christmas songs that are either long or short would be one of the ways to spread your cheers to other people too. One could just sing a song and get them recorded in CD’s or DVD’s. You can even get some cards and write the poems on them with some glittering pens. Send these swishes to your friends and relatives.

Christmas Gifts

Christmas gifts are one of the most favorite ways to send wishes to kids and school going children apart from elders. Kids and children would like gifts and other interesting things on their Christmas rather than cards.

There are other little ways in which you can impress the recipient further. You could send them some artificial flowers or wreaths decorated well for their Christmas. If you are going to wish them in surprise then try out an e-card. Adjust the date to be exactly the day of Christmas. It would be pleasant surprise to get your wishes exactly when they are worrying long for your wish to reach them.

I enjoy Christmas, because for that celebration all Family Members will meet and enjoy that great day.

Making greeting cards by hand can be therapeutic, it will brighten the day of the person that you give one to, and they are usually more meaningful than store bought cards, and ten times better than e-Cards… Yikes… e-Cards! A-l-t-h-o-u-g-h… if you like e-cards, then you can use my verses and make your own e-cards! If you make homemade greeting cards and homemade Christmas Cards, then YOU need some great quotes to put inside them…here are some that you can use!

1.”Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” ~ Franklin P. Jones

2.”Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” ~John Lennon

3.”Love is a game that two can play and both win.” ~Eva Gabor

4. “Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.” ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder

5. “When we were children we were grateful to those who filled our stockings at Christmas time. Why are we not grateful to God for filling our stockings with legs?” ~ G.K. Chesterton

6. “Remember, if Christmas isn’t found in your heart, you won’t find it under a tree.” ~ Charlotte Carpenter

7. “It is the personal thoughtfulness, the warm human awareness, the reaching out of the self to one’s fellow man that makes giving worthy of the Christmas spirit.” ~ Isabel Currier

8. “My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?” ~ Bob Hope

9. “The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas.” ~ W. C. Jones

10. “I am not alone at all, I thought. I was never alone at all. And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never alone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the world seemingly most indifferent. For this is still the time God chooses.” ~ Taylor Caldwell

11. “Let us keep Christmas beautiful Without a thought of greed, That it might live forevermore To fill our every need, That it shall not be just a day, But last a lifetime through, The miracle of Christmastime That brings God close to you.” ~ Anne Schulz

Let these words remind us of what the Christmas season is truly about. It’s not gifts and parties and pretty lights. These Christmas love quotes remind us that the Christmas season is, at its core, about love.

While the holiday season once more rolls around, the familiar strains of well known Christmas carols sing out from radio and television. First came the carolers walking around the small village neighborhood singing carols in exchange for a mug of hot beverage to warm them as they sang their way through the night. And then came radios echoing the beautiful strains of Joy to the World as well as Silent Night. And so was the advent of television and many Christmas shows were created. These shows became the yearly Christmas classics that we love and enjoy.

What I have come to learn over the years is that the top Christmas songs can be religious or secular, and regardless of your religious beliefs or lack thereof, you are probably very familiar with both kinds of song.

The first one that comes to mind when I think about the top Christmas songs is “O’ Holy Night,” which, of course, is made holy by the birth of Jesus Christ. This is the song that I have to hear every Christmas season at least once, or it really doesn’t feel like Christmas at all.

Another song that has to rank among the top Christmas songs is “Jingle Bells,” which of course is secular in nature. I think this more than any other song really illustrates the joyousness of the season, describing the scenery and activities that go on during the Christmas season.

One of the songs that I remember learning during the Christmas season when I was in school was “Frosty the Snowman.” I always loved this song, but I was also a little bit jealous. I grew up in Texas, where we hardly ever get snow, and I was not able to build a snowman each year.

Of all of the top Christmas songs I hear during the holiday season, my absolute favorite is “O Come, O Come Emanuel.” This is a religious song, obviously, and I love the beauty of the lyrics, but I also just like the music itself. It is so haunting to me that it definitely stands out from the rest.

Another of the top Christmas songs that I really like, but some people don’t seem to like at all, is “Jingle Bell Rock.” I know some people who seem to actually have an open disdain for this song, and I really don’t know why. I’ve always thought of it as being kind of fun and catchy.

“White Christmas” is another tune that many people consider to be one of the top Christmas songs and one that you almost always hear around Christmas time, and it is another secular song that can’t help but make you nostalgic for the holiday season.

The Christmas season is the most special time of the year for me, and I love all of the songs that go along with Christmas. Whether they are religious or secular, the top Christmas songs are loved by everyone who celebrates the holiday.

You may be thinking it is too early to worry about the annual Christmas Cards just yet but you would be wrong! For Christmas card suppliers, the season begins in August each year. Businesses and individuals make their design selections and have custom imprinted and personalized cards all ordered and ready to be addressed even before the trees start to change colors. With so many card designs to choose from, here are some helpful tips to consider that should help you narrow the field and end up with the perfect cards for you, your family and your business.

Order now. Begin by ordering your cards early. You will get the best selection and will be certain to receive your holiday cards before inventories diminish. As a seasonal commodity, inventories near depletion as December 25 approaches so shop early and you won’t be disappointed.

Make them special. Just after Halloween you will begin to see boxed cards in stores. These cards normally include preprinted messages and envelopes but today cards that are unique and one-of-a-kind are those most popular. For these you are faced with making those all by yourself, which can be quite time consuming and costly or you, can find a supplier that will customize quality greeting cards and print them for you. Online greeting card companies make it easy for you to include your own message and many allow you to pick the type styles and ink or foil colors you want so that you are actually creating your own unique card.

Include photographs. Photo Christmas Cards are great for business or for personal use. A happy photo of your business team puts names and faces together for those with whom you do business remotely. This approach adds a personal touch that helps your customers feel they are part of your extended business family. Long popular with personal friends and family, many enjoy holiday photo cards that give receivers a glimpse of how the children have grown and the parents have aged during the previous year.

Use as marketing tools. Business Christmas Cards can be great marketing tools as well. Custom printed and personalized, they share professional best wishes for the holidays and well wishes for the New Year. Remember that they are often displayed for all to see so consider designs that print your name on the front of the card or include die cut windows through which your company logo can be seen. You may even want to include a special promotional code or even your internet address to help drive holiday business your way.

Show your respect. Respect differences in religions and cultures when selecting the perfect card design to send. Christmas may not be a holiday celebrated by everyone on holiday card list. Happy Holidays may be a better choice of greeting than Merry Christmas for that same reason. The personal family photo card may not be a good choice for sending to business associates you don’t know all that well, but everyone will enjoy receiving a lovely card they can proudly display.

By ordering your cards now, you will have plenty of time to hand address envelopes and even add a quick personal note inside. The small time and effort spent now will reap big rewards later as your thoughtfulness will be returned in valued friendships and loyal business relationships old and new. A tradition since the 1800s, the sending and receiving of Christmas Cards is sure to endure the social networking immediacy currently taking the world by storm.
