Airport, never-ending smiles, embrace…

So many people are smiling all the time, embrace each other. On their faces, there are gratitude, happiness and even happy tears—this is the first scene of the movie, Love Actually. “Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrival’s gate at Heathrow airport. General opinion starts to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed. But I don’t see that, seems to me that love is everywhere.”  This is the aside of the movie which can be heard as soon as the movie starts.

This movie got introduced to the public in 2003 during the Christmas period. Several seemingly disconnected stories in fact have close connections with each other. Love is full of every story—not only romantic love, but also love among families and relatives. I love this movie since the day when I saw it. It makes people feel warm.

Christmas-Movie-Love-Actually
The most unforgettable story in this movie is the man, who falls in love in his friend’s bride. I can still remember that wedding ceremony. Using his camera, he recorded all the scenes where the bride appears. The smiling bride, the charming wedding dress, the happy expressions, all of these look so warm and romantic!

“With any luck by next year, I’ll be going out with one of these girls. But for now, let me say without hope and agenda, just because it’s Christmas (and at Christmas you tell the truth), to me you are perfect and my wasted heart will love you until you look like this. Merry Christmas!” Without any words, only carrying a tape record and paper board on which all he wants to express, he told his beloved girl all his love. The girl gifted him a kiss. “Enough”, he told himself with a satisfying smile. It is enough. It is love!

Every time when I see this scene, tears would fall off my eyes. I am not sad. Perhaps I just was moved by this special kind of love. If you love somebody and you are sure that she/he is happy now, perhaps, all you can do is to say “Merry Christmas”. That’s all, that’s enough.

Christmas is a time when people should tell the truth and express their love. So since Christmas 2011 is around the corner, have you already prepared to show your love?

The days leading up to Christmas can be for most tiring and unexciting as they prepare for Christmas day celebrations. Yet, there is no need to feel bogged down by Christmas shopping, food preparation and pre-Christmas dieting, when you can enjoy the various events that go on around the Christmas period. So get involved in the Christmas festivities and avoid being the Scrooge of the family, the office or the Christmas party.

We’re very lucky these days to have so many events to attend at the Christmas period, from the Christmas party to the local market. There are various events, which are suitable for the whole family, enabling you to spend quality time together whilst fitting in some Christmas shopping. In Birmingham, the amazing Frankfurt market enables you to browse through the specialist foods and crafts, whilst enjoying some Gluhwein and lebkuchen. The German market as well as other local markets and craft fares are a great way to buy something unique for your loved ones, as well as support local artists and businesses.

There are plenty of family friendly attractions at Christmas time in the West Midlands, from the annual Christmas parade in the very heart of Birmingham, which will keep the kids and you mesmerized. Day time activities during December will entertain the kids, whilst on holiday or at the weekend. All over the UK, venues will be hosting Christmas activities, shows and grottos, creating that magical feeling of Christmas for kids everywhere. In particular, Dudley Zoo, Cadbury Land and Selfridges are all hosting magical events for Children.

If you want something that not only the kids are interested in, look out for art and craft fairs where you can shop for crafts but also participate in a Christmas crafts class. Winterbourne House hosts yearly classes teaching how to make Christmas decorations and placements for the table, which is useful for those who want to impress their family and friends with their Christmas décor skills. Take the kids and your partner to the cinema to watch a Christmas movie, such as Scrooge, to get you all into the Christmas mood.

If you want some time without the kids, you can attend many adult only events, such as viewing new collections in one of the numerous art galleries in the UK. Also spend some quality time with your chums and work colleagues before the Christmas party, by spending an evening out at one of the German markets all over the UK or having a group meal together at a local trendy restaurant.

Christmas time is all about partying, wearing new dresses, exchanging gifts, attending church services and being with family and friends. Around this time, a number of parties are organized. So, when it comes down to your party it is very important to choose a unique theme. The idea is to make the party enjoyable for all those who are attending, including kids and adults. Once you have a unique party idea, next you need to find unique dress to wear at the party. Invite all your loved ones to the party and have a great time during Christmas this year.

Christmas Dress

Some Christmas parties have a dress code, while some do not. Where there is no dress code, you have lots of scope to experience with your dress and looks. If you have been waiting to try out a unique Christmas dress, such parties give you ample opportunities. However, there are certain things you have to keep in mind while selecting a Christmas dress. Be sophisticated, charming and your natural joyful self. After this, no matter what dress you wear it will look wonderful on you.

If you are dressing for an office Christmas party, you need to keep certain basics in mind. Keep your dressing simple, but use interesting accessories to make your own statement at the party. Avoid wearing too tight or revealing clothes at the office party. If you are wearing a sit jacket, wear a silk camisole to get that stylish look. With a simple knee length black skirt, wear a beaded cardigan set.

No matter what you are wearing, carry it off with poise. It is the way you carry off the dress, which will make it unique. So, make sure that you select something you are comfortable wearing. Also you must take note of the colors; wearing dresses in holiday color like red, white and green will add a nice touch to the celebrations.

Christmas party theme

It is always nice to celebrate a Christmas party with a theme. There are many themes, which you can choose for a party. The theme must be chosen keeping in mind the age of those who are attending the party. If it is a kid’s party then the theme can be Santa Claus, nativity party, Christmas music party, and coloring party etc. The kids must have lots of fun and enjoy spending time with their friends. Do not forget to invite all of them to the party and send out the invites ahead of time.

Whatever theme you are choosing, be it an adults party of kids party; you must not forget the essence of the celebrations. The spirit of charity must be reflected everywhere. You can ask guests coming to your party to bring small gifts to be given to orphanages. Kids receive many presents at Christmas; ask them to share some of them with the underprivileged. You can bake a cake or roast some turkey and take it to the aid centre in your city. Celebrate the occasion, by partying with the people living there.

Want to find some entertaining pastimes to observe the Christmas season? Besides shopping eagerly for wholesale Christmas gifts at bargain prices, what kinds of activities can you think up to make this season terrific? You can always invent your own traditions and festive times. Here are three suggestions.

Create Some Christmas Crafts.

If you have kids or fun-loving neighbors, have a Seasonal Craft party. You can locate things to work with at any wholesale Christmas website or store. Furnish your guests with pipecleaners, construction paper, sparkles, paste, styrofoam geometric figures. Go hunting outside and get some pine cones if they are available in your area or find some smooth rocks. Then let your innovative spirit run wild! Pine cones can become snowmen with yarn scarves! A big stone can be adorned and become part of your manger scene. Or use your supplies to make ornaments for the Christmas tree!

Bake and Build a House!

Baking is a traditional holiday season activity, but why not turn your baking into a construction project? Gingerbread houses are easier than they look. What you have to have is the gingerbread foundation, some frosting, and lots of candy to make the roof, windows, trim and front door. Candy canes, gummi drops and sugar cookies are a real treat! The most complicated part is making sure you cut the raw dough into usable structures for walls, shingles and fancy trims. You might need a few hours, but that is a part of the fun. Or, if it becomes too hard, then just resort to prepared wholesale Christmas gingerbread projects!

Compose a Christmas Carol

If your home is always full of music, why not have a contest for composing a fun new Christmas song? Sometimes the old favorites become just old, so set a goal to come up with a Christmas rock and roll song or a new hymn based on your own thoughts about the season and memorable Xmas moments. Add some handmade musical instruments – like a bongo made of oatmeal boxes and a bell choir consisting of silverware clinking together – and you will soon be convinced you are ready to debut with the next wholesale Christmas popular hit!

Having fun at Xmas should be a combination of tradition and novelty!

Not all of us are good at handling the busyness of Christmas. Some of us get quite stressed about the whole event because of the high amount of organisation needed and the pressure of sending cards, presents and attending events. It can all seem too much, but a little organisation and making a few cut backs can help you enjoy Christmas, rather than dread it.

For starters, don’t over stretch yourself. Send presents and cards to the people you want to. Don’t feel obliged to; after all, it is the season of good will, not obligations! Set a budget for presents, so that you don’t overspend and set a time each day or every few days where you write cards out. You can even make it a family event, so that everyone joins in, rather than just you.

Moreover shop early to avoid those dreaded queues and get the kids involved in a new activity named ‘Christmas present wrapping’, which they will love if you keep it fun!  Just make sure they don’t end up wrapping each other up!

Think festive! Get into the Christmas mood early by decorating the house all together as a family and sharing some mulled wine. Christmas is a time to relax, so a few glasses will help you unwind over the Christmas period.

Attend the Christmas parties you want to – don’t show up because of obligations. Also, don’t attend too many as partying combined with work and stress may lead to you overdoing it – and nobody wants to be ill during the Christmas period! Corporate Christmas parties organised by your work may be the last party to attend on your list; however, these can be quite fun and relaxed. These days work Christmas parties are not necessarily for the all night partiers, as they cater for everyone’s needs.

Get nostalgic! Watch all those traditional films at Christmas. They’re great to unwind to and will certainly get you into that Christmas mood. Listen to Christmas carols and see if you and your family can get involved in singing Christmas carols for one night.

The Christmas day meal is often the most stressful event for people. They’re worried that people won’t like it or that it will go wrong. The fact is the family come for the company, not your culinary skills! But if the stress of cooking is too much, ask each person to bring a dish big enough for everyone to share. Make sure you all confer, so that you don’t bring all the same thing. If your family is much smaller, then organise some of the food a day earlier as well as on the day. Get the kids involved a few days before by helping you cook the cake and cook the main meal upon the day.

This year have a relaxing Christmas! Lay back and don’t stress – after all it’s Christmas!

A Christmas party can be a major undertaking or a low-key gathering of friends. Be sure you plan ahead, since Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone. One thing is for sure, though, everybody loves a Christmas party

1 Plan your party. Decide whether you want a big bash with a bartender, catered food and a DJ, or if you’d rather have a more casual evening with friends–or something in between. Consult several party books and decide on a budget before making up your mind.

2 Get your party on the calendar. It’s often best to schedule a Christmas party several weeks before Christmas–before calendars are filled with other activities, shopping and baking.

3 Make a guest list. Ask as many people as you can accommodate to a sit-down dinner, or as many people as your house will hold for a cordial get-together with finger foods and drinks.

4 Decide on a menu. If you are having the meal catered, consult with the caterer and choose a menu, or plan your own.

5 Send invitations. Invitations should go out as early in December as possible so that your guests can schedule the party and RSVP. Be sure to include times, let guests know if a meal will be served, and mention appropriate dress.

6 Decorate. Your decor should include the traditional Christmas tree, plus lots of candles, centerpieces (if appropriate) and other holiday decorations.

7 Buy the food, beverages, paper goods and flowers you will need for the party.

8 Make hors d’oeuvres, arrange the flowers, cook the food and chill the wine as appropriate, and set the tables or arrange the serving table.

9 Just before guests arrive, light the candles, turn on some soft Christmas music, set out the hors d’oeuvres, and bring out the punch or open the bar.

10 Have fun!

Christmas season is the period when some men move quietly to any distant destination. It is really healthy to move to any holiday spot away from the working place which creates boredom because of repeated works in the same manners. This is why some of the known faces are not available during the Christmas season. The question is where one should go or which sites one should select as Christian destination ideas. It is not always easy to decide as one does not go alone and, for the same reason, one does not take the decision. The destination is expected to be a common choice.

Men in great number have common program during the Christmas days. They just pack up and move for the house of their parents who live generally in some village or in any distant town. These men taste their nostalgic peace and comfort, because other members of the root family do also get together to spend the holidays. In one sense, it is a very nice choice. This is another way to inhale pure oxygen spending a few days with the parents and other nearest relatives and exchanging experiences of sufferings and mirth with them.

Christmas Holiday ideas vary from person to person. There are people who favor hill stations whereas others love to walk through the sea beaches. Hill stations or sea beaches, whatever the spot may be, are miles away from their usual residence. This satisfies their hidden romantic spirit. The open sky above and the vast tract of land in any direction act as unknown dear friends.

It is again important to note that hotels are overcrowded during Christmas days. Men who want to move quietly to any distant favorite destination should be prepared for the program well in advance; otherwise, they would be in trouble and they would have to spend a lot.

It is another thing that the airlines are badly busy in those days. It is difficult to get any reservation unless the tickets are not collected in time. This is to mean that the persons who have vacations in their mind should be ready to plan for it earlier.
